How NEUTAUR reads industries from public data
NEUTAUR organizes public physical and trade data — customs manifests, SEC disclosures, patents, satellite observations, and power-grid queues — so you can read which industries are moving, before the headlines. It is a data-analytics tool, not an investment adviser.
What NEUTAUR does
NEUTAUR reads structural, already-public data — trade, filings, patents, materials, and macro feeds — for an industry, and shows which way the evidence points. It organizes data that already exists from primary government and exchange sources; it does not invent or estimate an individual company’s physical output. Where the public record is thin, it shows an honest blank rather than a number it cannot measure.
The public data it organizes
Every source is an official public feed. NEUTAUR organizes them — it does not resell raw data.
- SEC EDGAR — Company filings — segment and product revenue, business descriptions, material events (8-K).
- U.S. Customs · UN Comtrade — Import and export trade flows by HS code, at the industry and country level.
- USPTO PatentsView — Patent activity by assignee and technology area.
- NASA FIRMS (VIIRS / MODIS) — Satellite fire and thermal observations near mapped facilities.
- ISO interconnection queues — Power-grid interconnection requests — where new industrial load is being planned.
- FRED · BLS · U.S. Census · IMF PortWatch — Macro and trade context.
How it reads an industry
- It sorts a company into the industries it operates in using that company’s own SEC-filed segment and product revenue, or a model reading its 10-K with a verbatim quote. Classification is an estimate, and is labeled as one.
- It places physical and trade signals next to a company’s own reported financials — the public facts, side by side — so a reading only stands out when several independent sources point the same way.
- It surfaces direction — rising, falling, or flat — at the industry and aggregate level, with a link back to each underlying public source.
What it does not do
- It does not make predictions, price targets, or buy, sell, or hold recommendations.
- It does not publish fabricated per-company physical output — signals are aggregate and relational.
- It does not use news sentiment, rumor, or share-price momentum as inputs.
